Journey Timeline:
2003   2004   2005   2006   2007 ... 2009 ... 2012   2014
January
A brief departure from cane, in order to return to it with renewed strength. Had fun with
bubble vases, where air bubbles are created from gather over optical molds. Also embarked
on some
swirl color patterns, achieved by applying a lip-wrap in random fashion and
gathering over carefully.

February
Back to cane, this time with longer cut cane, producing larger pieces.

March/April
The longer cane proves elusive, and it was necessary to go back to basics and ensure the
cane plate was properly prepared. The lure of larger pieces with color is difficult to resist.

May/June/July
Yellow optical mold vases, back to blues, reds, and preparing for August 11 "Winchester Art"
reception!

August
Winchester Art reception downtown. Storefront window full of glasswork. Mingled with
Photographer
Carla Maria Casagrande, the only woman photographer at the 1936 Berlin
Olympics. Part of my dialog with Carla got to the heart of the matter:
Carla: "
What wonderful glasswork, is this what you do?"
"
I wish, but no"
Carla: "
So what do you do normally?"
"S
omething business related"
Carla: "
Oh, I see, so glass is what keeps you alive then."
